Jill York - Artist

This is quite a small work, painted on a Belle Arte Gesso Wooden Panel, which is beautifully smooth and wonderful to work on - ideal for detailed work in both oils and acrylics.
I hadn't tried these panels before, which is why I decided to do something on this small scale and it worked out really well. I got quite a lot of detail in to the painting and showed off Pete's lovely white hair, which made him very happy! He was very pleased with the end result, so I shall certainly use panel's again for more portraits and animals.
